Kitchen Equipment available for Gleaners to borrow (2025)

The following kitchen equipment will be available in to be borrowed for free by Gleaners registered for the 2025 season. To borrow the equipment, (which is stored in the NCGS office in the Foodshare Centre at 271 Pine St), call or text Lee at 250-816-4769 or email her at gleaning@ncgs.ca to arrange a time to meet and pick up the equipment. It can be borrowed for up to a week and you will need to make arrangements to meet Lee to return the equipment within that time frame. Late returns may require a fee. Take a look at the following items to see if you can use them for your food preservation needs. If you have equipment you would like to donate to this program, please let us know. Once we have enough equipment and ironed out any bugs in the system, we will be able to open lending to all NCGS members.

There are also 2 6 Foot Orchard Ladders and 4 picking tools that can be borrowed by gleaners for picks. These can be picked up by gleaners themselves from the shed for use on independent picks. Please contact Lee at 250-816-4769 for the code to the shed. Items can be used for the duration of the pick only as they need to be returned for use by other gleaners. For transportation purposes, the ladder is 6 feet tall and a bit less than 3 feet wide at the base, picking tools can be dismantled, as shown, into segments. And 2 pickers can be used to make a longer picking tool if needed.
