Winter Veggie Starts are Now for Sale

As promised, Beban Learning Gardens will begin sales of winter veggie starts this Saturday, July18, and every Wednesday and Saturday from 10 until noon, until some time in August.

Now is the time to plant such things as cauliflower and Brussels sprouts so they can grow big and strong enough to withstand our West Coast winters and be ready to give you succulent veggies next spring. Other greens such as endive and radicchio will produce right through the fall and, depending on the weather, well into the new year.

Plants for sale over the next month will include Red Spear sprouting broccoli, and several varieties each of Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, endive, radicchio, mustard, as well as Fordhook chard, winter lettuce, snap peas, and 3 kinds of fall tomatoes. That’s right…Mandy’s Keepsake, Mystery Keeper, and Golden Longkeeper!

4” pots are $2.50 apiece

We have a TAP device for contactless debit payment or cash (exact change) is also accepted
