Beban Learning Gardens will begin sales of winter veggie starts on Wednesday, July 14, from 10 to noon every Wednesday and Sunday from 10 until 11:30, until some time in August.
Now is the time to plant such things as cauliflower and Brussels sprouts so they can grow big and strong enough to withstand our West Coast winters and be ready to give you succulent vegies next spring. Other greens such as endive and radicchio will produce right through the fall and, depending on the weather, well into the new year.
Plants for sale over the next month will include sprouting broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, endive, radicchio, mustard, chard, winter lettuce, and snap peas.
Those in green are ready now. Others ready soon.
4” pots are $2.50 apiece
