NCGS Annual Plant Sale May 11th 10am – 3pm

Each year volunteers from our Greenhouse site raise beautiful, well-grown herb, vegetable and flower seedlings. These seedlings are grown without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides from open pollinated and heritage variety seeds and are sold to backyard gardeners throughout Nanaimo and area.

Nanaimo Community Gardens Society holds an Annual Plant Sale at the Beban Learning Gardens, our site at Beban Park. In addition to the Annual Plant Sale some seedlings will be available to purchase at Beban Learning Gardens during the regular Wednesday morning work parties from 10:00am – 12:00 pm throughout the spring.

The plants available in the early spring are the cooler weather plants including lettuce, arugula, kale, Pac Choi, broad beans, strawberries and raspberries. Later in the season is the ideal time of year for planting out your tender annual vegetables such as heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, peppers, herbs and edible flowers so come on out and pick up any plants you need to complete your warm-weather garden.

The date for the 2019 plant sale is May 11th from 10am to 3pm.
